NEW
- The
5th Annual EvNet Conference was held from May 30th to June
3rd at the Nav Canada Training and Conference Centre in
Corwall, Ontario. For details, see: http://socserv2.mcmaster.ca/srnet/confmain.htm
. It was an extremely successful event. We wish to thank all those who participated in it, and look forward to next year's conference.
- The
five education and training networks in Canada, funded by
the Social Sciences and Research Council of Canada, have
been going through rigorous peer-evaluations by external
Experts Committees. EvNet was the last to be evaluated,
which occurred on June 1st, 2000. It was also an extremely
successful event. For details, see the SSHRC site

- The EvNet Electronic Working Papers is now open for

- Dr. Carl Cuneo, Director of EvNet, along with seven
colleagues teaching an experimental first year social
science inquiry course, won the President's Award for
Course Design.
- The five-network joint conference planned for May, 2001,
at the University of Toronto, has been cancelled due to
insufficient funds.
- EvNet would like to welcome a new administrative co-ordinator
to its ranks. His name is John Bell. He comes to EvNet from
Housing & Conference Services. He
replaces Cassandra Pohl who moves on to Indigenous
Studies. We wish Cassandra all the best in her new
position.
- Dr. Delsworth Harnish, Co-ordinator of EvNet, was one of
the 1999 National 3M Award Winners for Excellence in
Teaching.
