The City of Toronto Urban Design Group has been slow to establish a system for integrating the more sophisticated data structures, CAD and GIS mapping necessary for the processing of plans and planning strategies. Recently it has been proactively involved in taking a more aggressive position relative to using performance standards for design and planning approval processes, a stand which requires day to day activities supported by technological processes for design/planning visualization and evaluation. The Division has indicated its desire under research Project 3 (e) of this EvNet Letter of Intent to set up an evaluation strategy to determine the effectiveness of this research proposal to deliver professional and training services.
