Procedures for Assignments
Sociology 4J3: Sociology of Cyberspace Instructor: Carl Cuneo, KTH-608

The following procedures must be used in handing in assignments. Students using other procedures cannot be guaranteed that their work will be accepted for grading.

1. All assignments must be handed in using two formats - hard copy and electronic.
2. Electronic copies will be handed in via LearnLink or on a diskette (please follow the instructions given in class).
3. All files posted on LearnLink must be to the apprpriate conference folders (please follow instructions given in class).
4. No electronic files will be accepted unless they are in plain text dos ascii text format (with a txt extension), wordperfect 5.1 (with a w51 extenstion), wordperfect 6.1 format (with a wpd extenstion), or a web html format (with a htm extension).
5. Filenames must convey a unique meaning combining your surname with the topic of the assignment. For the three written assignments, the following conventions must be used:
   • Book Review (BR) Assignment: if your name is Jane Doe, then the proper filename is:
     • brdoe.txt (dos ascii file)
     • brdoe.w51 (wordperfect 5.1 file)
     • brdoe.wpd (wordperfect 6.1 file)
   • Research Proposal: if your group name is cyber-1, then the proper filename is a combination of your group name and PROP:
     • cy1prop.txt (dos ascii file)
     • cy1prop.w51 (wordperfect 5.1 file)
     • cy1prop.wpd (wordperfect 6.1 file)
   • Major Research Paper: if your group name is cyber-1, then the proper filename is a combination of your group name and RES:
     • cy1res.txt (dos ascii file)
     • cy1res.w51 (wordperfect 5.1 file)
     • cy1res.wpd (wordperfect 6.1 file)
     • cy1res.htm (web html file)
